  • Can I go to the Chiropractor If I have been in an Auto-Accident ?

Can I go to the Chiropractor if I have been in an Auto-accident?

The Answer is YES! Over the past 11 years I have seen several victims of Auto accidents. I can't stress enough how important it is to see a chiropractor after an accident. It is very important that if you have had a severe wreck that you go to the emergency room. After you are released from the ER, It is important to visit your chiropractor for a check of the spine. When an accident occurs there are extreme forces introduced on the body. This can bring havoc on the spine and nervous system. Insurance research reveals that an auto accident of less than 20 MPH can result in problems in the spine and muscles. Do Injuries always show immediately after an accident? The answer is no. Sometimes they show up 1-5 day post wreck. About 50% of the patients we see everyday have had some type of accident that has happened earlier in life. The standard answer that I receive after asking if they were treated for that accident was "I didn't think I was injured." This is the number one mistake that most patients make after an accident. It is important to be checked by a chiropractor after an auto accident or even a slip or fall. As a chiropractor I am here to help you recover from an accident and return you to a healthy life style. • Do I Need To See A Chiropractor?

    by Justin Phillips, D.C.

Do I need to see a Chiropractor? This is a question I get asked everywhere I go.The simple answer is yes you do. I tell people  “If it has a spine, it needs to be adjusted and maintained for proper function.” I have noticed in the past few years that animal chiropractic care has became a big part of horse roping and barrel racing.  People that own horses have realized the performance difference in a horse that has been under chiropractic care and  one that has been chiropracticly neglected. The same analogy can be related to the human spine. Research and observation have revealed  people that maintain their spines with proper chiropractic care are healthier, feel better, and miss less daysof work due to sickness or illnesses. How do you know if you need to see a chiropractor? Few symptoms can reveal if chiropractic care is needed. If you have pain in the  spinal region,  leg or arm pain isjust one of the symptoms. A saying  I hear quite often, “ Dr. Phillips it feels like muscle pain or a pulled muscle”. The truth is, a vertebrae being misaligned or out of place can cause a nerve to be pinched and muscle spasms to become present to protect the area of misalignment.  If it feels like muscle pain or a pulled muscle then most likely there is a misalignment of the spine that is causing muscle pain. If you are involved in sports or strenuous activity can also be another reason to seek chiropractic care. It is very important to maintain your spine when you are hard on your body. Most spinal problems that present as chronic or long time problems are the one sthat started when the person was involved in high school sports or injured at a younger age and never had the problem corrected or examined As a chiropractor I work on several types of problems that deal with the muscle-skeletal system. Also if a patient presents with a problem that I am not the answer for we will make the proper referral. After all getting the patient better is our main goal.

Allergies and Chiropractic

I have been asked the question "What does Chiropractic have to do with Allergies?" My answer, " Everything." I have always explained to patients that chiropractic helps allergies by removing the subluxations from the spine and allowing the nervous system to work correctly. This also allows the body's lymphatic system to drain properly and helps with stuffy sinuses. In March of this year I added an allergy machine to the clinic. This machine works by analysing how your body responds to different stresses. Yes, allergies are a form of stress. This machine goes to the root of the problem instead of working on the symptoms. This is how chiropractic works as well by going to the problem not treating the symptoms. Naturally Chiropractic and Bax Aura Allergy treatment have this philosophy in common. If you have any question regarding this blog please feel free to email me at drphillips@drjustinphillips.com or call the clinic at 405.598.6768.

Can Chiropractic help arm pain and foot pain?

The answer is yes we can help with arm pain and foot pain. I am asked this all the time, “Dr. Phillips my foot has a pain right here. Is there something you can do?” There is always something we can do for joint pain. I tell patients all the time that if it is a joint in the body we can adjust it or make sure it is moving properly around all the nerves. The first event is to make sure all the mis-alignments are removed from the spine. Then I move to the arms and legs. We can adjust the knees, ankles, feet, shoulders, elbows, wrists, hand, and TMJ (The Jaw). Several foot and knee conditions originate from a subluxated spine, but there can be impingement in the joints of the lower extremities as well. The next time you have feet or arm pain be sure and tell chiropractor about it.
