Can I go to the Chiropractor If I have been in an Auto-Accident ?

Can I go to the Chiropractor if I have been in an Auto-accident?

The Answer is YES! Over the past 11 years I have seen several victims of Auto accidents. I can't stress enough how important it is to see a chiropractor after an accident. It is very important that if you have had a severe wreck that you go to the emergency room. After you are released from the ER, It is important to visit your chiropractor for a check of the spine. When an accident occurs there are extreme forces introduced on the body. This can bring havoc on the spine and nervous system. Insurance research reveals that an auto accident of less than 20 MPH can result in problems in the spine and muscles. Do Injuries always show immediately after an accident? The answer is no. Sometimes they show up 1-5 day post wreck. About 50% of the patients we see everyday have had some type of accident that has happened earlier in life. The standard answer that I receive after asking if they were treated for that accident was "I didn't think I was injured." This is the number one mistake that most patients make after an accident. It is important to be checked by a chiropractor after an auto accident or even a slip or fall. As a chiropractor I am here to help you recover from an accident and return you to a healthy life style. Very interesting article. I have gone to chiropractic care after major accidents and now have adopted it as a part of my health maintenance. I would recommend it to anyone suffering from back pain or anyone who is just trying to maintain a healthy lifestyle.

I practice in Florida but I see the same thing. Patients don't realize they are injured and sometimes so much time goes by that when pain develops they no longer attribute their pain to the accident.

By than good luck getting your insurance company to pay for care. The take away should be go get checked out if your in an accident.
